The Oceania Riviera will sail its first season in Alaska

Oceania Cruises offers more than a dozen immersive Alaskan explorations in 2025, taking travelers beyond typical tourist spots to discover the unique perspectives, local culture, towering glaciers, and pristine wilderness of "The Last Frontier."

The Oceania Riviera will sail its first season in AlaskaThe Riviera, with a capacity for 1,250 guests, will sail its first season in Alaska, making it the first and only cruise ship in the region designed for and by food lovers, where travelers will enjoy the best of the 49th state, along with the luxurious ambiance of a small ship and a wide variety of gourmet culinary experiences.

The 2025 Alaska cruise season runs from May to September and offers a variety of itineraries ranging from seven to twelve days, departing from Seattle, Vancouver, and Whittier. Each itinerary includes lesser-known and iconic ports such as Homer, Sitka, and Juneau, and each sailing also features an onboard naturalist who provides expert insights into Alaska's incredible biodiversity, encompassing everything from whales to bears and seals.

“We are thrilled to bring our 1,250-guest Riviera to Alaska for the first time,” said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises. “Our elegant, upscale experience on a small ship offers the perfect match for Alaska’s outdoor adventures, and because the Riviera is 30 to 50 percent smaller than other premium cruise lines sailing in the region, we can take our guests to lesser-known, more remote ports for a true immersion in this fascinating destination.”

popular Alaska Explorer youth program will be available on all voyages in the region in 2025. Designed for children ages 5-12, the program will include engaging games, activities, and special Alaska-inspired events, where young adventurers will be supervised by experienced and enthusiastic youth counselors.

The Oceania Riviera will sail its first season in AlaskaTo further enhance Oceania Cruises' itineraries, guests have the option of adding a pre- or post-cruise land program, offering an opportunity to explore even more of Alaska. Among the land programs offered is Discover Denali, where travelers will enjoy one spectacular view after another, including North America's tallest peak, while exploring Denali National Park, the first national park created specifically to protect wildlife.

The highlight aboard Riviera: Alaska's only truly foodie ship

The refurbished Riviera offers incredibly spacious standard staterooms and one chef for every 10 guests and seven gourmet restaurants with free seating, including the four always-included specialty restaurants: the Polo Grill Steakhouse; the Italian Toscana; the Asian fusion Red Ginger; and the French restaurant Jacques.

In addition, Oceania Cruises is incorporating the culinary scene of "The Last Frontier" into its guests' experience through new hands-on cooking classes at The Culinary Center and chef's market dinners at Terrace Café, hosted by the onboard culinary team, featuring fresh, local ingredients from the region.
