Alma Cruceros, the first Spanish boutique cruise line, has approved a capital increase of 2,500,000 euros with the aim of strengthening its market position and financing new strategic projects.

This decision responds to the potential demand for the shipping company's product in the Spanish-speaking markets of North, Central and South America and the need to reach distribution and sales agreements in those territories.
The capital increase will be carried out through the issuance and subscription of new shares representing 20% of the resulting share capital, via a private placement, and is aimed at current shareholders and external investors. In fact, current shareholders will cover the entire portion of the increase not subscribed to by new shareholders.
With this capital injection, Alma Cruceros plans to secure distribution and sales agreements in the United States, focusing on the Spanish-speaking community in key cities such as Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, as well as in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Furthermore, the company intends to continue investing in the digitalization of its internal processes, particularly in sales, marketing, communications, and administration.
Current shareholding structure
Alma Cruceros' current shareholding structure is comprised of almost 85% Alma Cruises, SL, owned by the company's president, Elisardo Sánchez. The remaining 15% is held by the management team, which includes Pedro Costa, the company's vice president and sales manager, a key figure in the cruise industry.
“We are confident that this capital increase will be successful among the Spanish investment community, allowing usto strengthen our financial structure but also to accelerate our growth strategy in thecoming months,” commented Elisardo Sánchez. “We are offering early-stage investment opportunities in Alma Cruceros with very attractive returns. We aim to strengthen our core shareholder base for future projects based on newly built ships, whosearchitecturaland engineering design is already at an advanced stage.”
“Furthermore, we have already finalized agreements with over 7,500 travel agencies in Spain and are currently working on similar agreements in the Americas. We are a genuinely Spanish cruise product, designed specifically for Spanish speakers. Latin America is our next step to ensure our product is featured in the region's leading sales channels. We will also be strengthening our team for corporate agreements. Our ship, with only 93 cabins, is ideally suited for MICE events”.
The subscription for the new shares will be available until September 28, 2024.
Furthermore, Alma Cruceros will be part of Seatrade Cruise Med 2024 this year, which will be held on September 11 and 12 at the FYCMA in Malaga, first in a round table entitled “New Actors in the Mediterranean”, and later Alma Cruceros will be officially presented at the State Ports stand.
