The Edinburgh district “Sea Cadets” are welcomed aboard the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in Rosyth.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has welcomed 24 “Sea Cadets” from Edinburgh with the opportunity to learn more about life and the sea by coming aboard a cruise ship.
On June 27, during the Balmoral 2024's inaugural stop in Rosyth Harbour, they were greeted by members of the Balmoral's bridge crew, including Captain Steffan Ravneng , Safety Officer Euan Ross and two deck cadets.
After breakfast with Captain Ravneng and a talk about life at sea, the cadets were taken to the lower decks, including the engine room, and toured the ship's public areas. They then had lunch in the Ballindalloch restaurant.
Ewan Galloway, district officer for Edinburgh Sea Cadets, said: “Bringing cadets from all over Edinburgh together to experience a cruise was an exceptional opportunity to showcase and develop the skills cultivated in the Edinburgh Sea Cadet Programme.”
