Crystal has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Fincantieri. This agreement marks the start of construction on two pioneering vessels that will redefine luxury travel at sea.
The ships, with a capacity for 690 passengers and 61,800 gross tons, will feature a range of amenities and innovative designs that will guarantee passenger comfort.
The architecture studios Studio Ibsen, directed by the professor and architect Adriana Granato, and Studio Gem, directed by the naval architect Giacomo Mortola and the naval engineer Giacomo Mortola, have participated in the project.
Giacomo Mortola and Naval Engineer Lorenzo Mortola, along with a third international design studio yet to be named. The interior design will be based on marbles, Italian fabrics, and natural materials.
A promenade will be a highlight, extending along the entire perimeter of the ship, similar to the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, for strolling with ocean views.
Foodies will be delighted by a wide variety of dining options, including Umi Uma, the only Nobu at sea, as well as the recently announced Beefbar.
In addition, Crystal will continue its legacy of providing exclusive entertainment alongside a casino that includes a wide variety of gaming options in an elegant setting.
Wellness and relaxation will be at the heart of the new ships, with a full-service spa and state-of-the-art gym available to all guests. Families traveling with children will enjoy a dedicated children's area, designed to offer engaging activities and a safe space for little ones.
The new ships will feature suites with private verandas, including a popular single-cabin suite designed for solo travelers. This commitment to comfort is complemented by one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in this segment, ensuring personalized service and attention to detail.
“This order is another milestone in the 40-year fruitful collaboration between Fincantieri and my family, which began with Sitmar Cruises, continued with Silversea and is now flourishing again with Crystal,” declared Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group.

The first ship is scheduled for delivery in spring 2028. The construction and delivery schedule for the second ship will be announced later.
Crystal has also secured the option to build a third sister ship with delivery in 2032.
