Resorts World One begins operations in Indonesia

The Resorts World One has arrived in Jakarta, where it will operate six-day cruises to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, from June 16 to July 1, 2024.

This marks a new milestone for Resorts World Cruises as the first international cruise line to be based in Indonesia. Departures will be on June 16, 21, and 26, and July 1, 2024.

The cruise line and local authorities organized a celebration to commemorate the ship's first arrival and its first departure from Jakarta. Upon the ship's arrival, Indonesian tourism officials welcomed the passengers with cultural performances.

Another event was held at Resorts World One with more than 250 attendees, including Captain Hendri Ginting MM, Director of Maritime Safety and Seafarers at the General Directorate of Maritime Transport of the Ministry of Transport, and Itok Parikesit, Director of Special Interest Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.

Also present were other local authorities, tourism and business partners, and representatives of Resorts World Cruises, including its Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay; Puan Sri Cecilia Lim; Colin Au, Chief Executive Officer, and Michael Goh, President.

On behalf of Resorts World Cruises, we are very excited to write a new chapter in Indonesia’s history and be part of this milestone as the first international cruise line to dock in Indonesia with Resorts World One. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to a successful rollout from Jakarta ,” Goh stated .

Parikesit stated, “We expect the Resorts World One rollout in Jakarta to offer positive prospects and increase the number of international tourists visiting Indonesia, which will also boost the country’s foreign exchange earnings. This rollout will also allow the port of Tanjong Priok to become not only a homeport but also a cruise hub and destination, enabling more cruise tourists to explore diverse local destinations.”
