SeaDream Yacht Club has modernized its entire fleet with shore power, allowing them to turn off their engines and reduce emissions to zero in ports with shore power.
“This is an important milestone and a significant step on our journey towards a more sustainable cruise,” said Andreas Brynestad of the SeaDream Yacht Club.
The SeaDream II completed the upgrade last fall, while the SeaDream I underwent it successfully during a recent stay at the Naval Rocha shipyard in Lisbon.
With these improvements, SeaDream Yacht Club becomes the first luxury cruise line to equip its entire fleet with shore power.
This summer, SeaDream's two yachts will be exploiting marinas across the Mediterranean, including the Greek islands and the French and Italian rivieras, before transiting to the Caribbean for the 2024/25 winter season.

Complete yacht upgrade
The dry docking of SeaDream I also marked the final step in the complete keel-to-mast modernization of the two SeaDream yachts.
The project includes improvements to all suites, cabins, common areas and open deck spaces on both yachts.
With a fresh, modern décor, but retaining the intimate luxury of SeaDream yachts, the upgrades include more spacious cabins and luxurious lounge areas, such as the open forward deck area on deck 6, with hammocks, a golf simulator, plush sun loungers and two new couples' jacuzzis with unobstructed views.
The project also expanded SeaDream's marinas by adding the first and only water slide on a cruise ship that takes you directly from the ship to the sea.
During the spring dry dock, SeaDream I modernized the panoramic gym, as well as the sauna and the SeaDream Spa, the only Thai-certified spa at sea.
