Auramarine has received an order from the Meyer Turku shipyard for a methanol fuel supply system and associated equipment for TUI Cruises' Mein Schiff 7
The vessel, equipped for shore power supply, will initially run on low-emission marine diesel, with the possibility of using eco-friendly methanol in the future.
Sea trials were conducted last month, and the vessel is scheduled for delivery this summer. Deliveries of the Auramarine team began in 2023 and continued this spring.
“As the first methanol-prepared cruise ship, having the right technology and infrastructure to supply the new fuel successfully and safely is critical for efficient and sustainable operations,” said Tapani Pulli, deputy managing director of Meyer Turku.

Methanol fuel delivery system
Auramarine's methanol fuel delivery system ensures the safe delivery of methanol from the service tank to the fuel master valve, regulating the flow, pressure, and temperature of the methanol to meet the specific requirements of the engine.
The system actively maintains supply pressure within specified tolerances during load changes and filters the fuel to prevent impurities from entering the engine.
As part of the order, Auramarine will supply the methanol storage tank and transfer systems, including vital automation and safety systems that ensure safe and reliable operations. A gas detection system and a methanol bilge system are also included.
