MSC Cruises celebrated the inaugural call of MSC Orchestra in the city of Malaga at an onboard event attended by Carlos Rubio, President of the Port Authority of Malaga, and Fernando Pacheco, Managing Director of MSC Cruises in Spain.
This event marks the start of MSC Orchestra's summer itinerary, for which the Port of Malaga will be the port of embarkation on 20 occasions.
This new itinerary through the Western Mediterranean will last 11 days and 10 nights, with stops in Alicante, Cadiz and Mahon, as well as other Mediterranean destinations such as Olbia, Genoa, Marseille and Lisbon.
With the 20 calls that MSC Orchestra will make in the Port of Malaga this summer season, MSC Cruises becomes the shipping company with the highest number of calls in this port, with 84% more than in 2019.
This itinerary, offered by MSC Orchestra for the third consecutive year in the port of Malaga, will offer the opportunity to embark on a cruise in which Spain and the Iberian Peninsula will be the protagonists, since it will have a route that includes visits to Olbia, Genoa, Marseille, Cadiz, Lisbon, Menorca, and Alicante, in addition to Malaga and full days of sailing.

This year we anticipate more than 110,000 tourists visiting Malaga throughout the summer season, with a significant economic impact for the region.”

For his part, Carlos Rubio, president of the Port Authority of Malaga, added: “MSC continues to be considered one of the most important shipping companies in our port, as it is the one that most frequently calls at Malaga in terms of cruises. Furthermore, we will continue to work together to improve the cruise passenger experience.”
The tour will take place aboard MSC Orchestra, one of MSC Cruises' Musica class ships, which has a capacity of 3,223 passengers and approximately 1,300 crew members.
This itinerary through the Western Mediterranean is part of the company's strategic growth plan in Spanish ports, with which MSC Cruises has more than 600 scheduled calls with 8 embarkation ports in Spain in 2024.
MSC Opera will also sail to the Canary Islands from November 3rd to March 23rd, which will mean 21 embarkations on each island, 9 of them in 2024 and 12 in 2025.
