Royal Caribbean International 's Oasis of the Seas returned to Europe for its summer program in the Western Mediterranean.
After departing from PortMiami at the end of April, the ship, built in 2009, arrived in Spain on May 1, 2024.
As part of a 14-night transatlantic voyage, the Oasis of the Seas visited Cadiz, Malaga, Alicante and Valencia before arriving in Barcelona on May 5, 2024.
The cruise ship, with a capacity for 5,400 passengers, will now offer a series of seven-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean.
In addition to Barcelona, passengers can embark in Civitavecchia for itineraries throughout Spain, France, and Italy. Ports of call include Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, Naples, and La Spezia.
The program, which will run until the end of September, marks the first season of Oasis in the Mediterranean in more than five years.
Before returning to North America at the end of the year, the ship is scheduled to go through a dry dock at a Spanish shipyard.
In early November, the ship will return to Florida to conduct an annual program of cruises through the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Departing from Port Everglades, the ship offers six- and eight-night itineraries to various destinations, including Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and St. Kitts.
Each cruise also includes a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean International's private island destination in the Bahamas.
The Oasis of the Seas, the first of a series of six ships known as the Oasis Class, first entered service in 2009.
Built in Finland, this 220,000-ton cruise ship offers several unique features, such as Central Park. Designed as an open-air park with real plants, the space offers a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as a bar and lounge area.
