Due to the current situation in the Red Sea, Princess Cruises is modifying the itineraries of its two 2025 World Cruises, adding new stops in Africa and Europe. The cruises will no longer visit the Middle East or Asia.
“A Princess World Cruise is truly the trip of a lifetime, and after careful consideration with guidance from safety experts and government authorities, we know our guests will understand and appreciate the change to our upcoming 2025 itineraries to avoid certain areas,” said Terry Thornton, Chief Commercial Officer of Princess Cruises.
“Some events beyond our control have made these itinerary changes necessary, but we are pleased to continue ensuring that these World Cruises maintain destination-rich itineraries with incredible stops along the west coast of Africa and the Mediterranean.”
The inaugural World Cruise itinerary sets sail aboard the Island Princess from North America. This 116-day cruise offers two round-trip options, departing from Ft. Lauderdale on January 5, 2025, and from Los Angeles on January 20, 2025, visiting 46 destinations in 24 countries across six continents, and concluding in Los Angeles on May 17, 2025.
The new itinerary, from February 16 to April 9, departs from Sydney and travels to Melbourne and Perth before heading to South Africa. From there, the journey resumes the scheduled itinerary, beginning in Valletta, Malta, on April 9.
Passengers who were scheduled to join the cruise from Dubai on March 14, 2025, will now embark or disembark four days earlier, on March 9, in Cape Town, South Africa. Guests disembarking in Cape Town will be refunded the equivalent of four days of their cruise fare, while those embarking earlier will not incur any additional costs. All these passengers will also receive onboard credit.
The second 2025 itinerary departs aboard the Crown Princess from Auckland on May 31, 2025, and from Sydney on June 4, 2025. The 113-day voyage includes stops in 42 destinations across 22 countries on five continents. The ship will sail through Africa instead of the Red Sea and Asia. The new itinerary is being finalized and will be announced shortly.
