Norwegian Cruise Line 's Norwegian Sun is set to make its grand entrance into Australia, with a debut planned in Brisbane on December 18 and in Melbourne on December 21.
This event marks the end of an 18-day journey from Papeete to the Australian coast.
With a capacity for 1,936 passengers, the Norwegian Sun will offer a unique travel experience and inaugurate new NCL itineraries in the region.
Highlights include inaugural visits to Port Douglas and Townsville in far north Queensland, as well as Aitutaki in the Cook Islands.
The Norwegian Sun's scheduled itineraries promise fascinating discoveries at every port of call. For example, a 14-day voyage from Cairns to Lautoka will be offered, with departures scheduled for April 23 and August 20, 2025.
During this trip, passengers will have the opportunity to explore Airlie Beach, Townsville, Noumea, Lifou, Port Vila, Mystery Island and Dravuni before arriving in Lautoka.
Cairns and Lautoka are marked as NCL's first ports of call, underscoring the importance of these destinations in the company's offering.
In addition, the Norwegian Sun will offer a 14-day voyage to Cairns from Bali on April 9, 2025, with scheduled stops in Lombok, Komodo, and Darwin, thus offering an exciting range of options for travelers.

With the Norwegian Sun and the addition of the Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Cruise Line will offer two ships to sail Australian waters, promising an unforgettable experience for travelers in the region.
