The Port of Motril continues the cruise season with luxury ships, this time receiving the Marina from Oceania Cruises, the third to arrive at the port.
With a length of 240 meters, the equivalent of almost five Olympic swimming pools, more than 1,000 passengers (Americans, Canadians and French) are on board, served by 755 crew members.
Some “exclusive tourists” who have paid up to 23,900 euros for a cruise whose itinerary began in Florida, continued through the Bahamas, Bermuda, Azores, Cadiz, Motril, Alicante and concluded in Barcelona.
The Marina ship, belonging to the Oceania Cruises company and consigned in the Port of Motril by the local agent López Guillén, is a compendium of innovations in terms of facilities and decoration.
This ship was a pioneer in taking Oceania Cruises' already excellent cuisine to a higher level, providing it with more specialty restaurants.
“During their stay in the Port of Motril, two shuttle buses have been operating to take passengers and crew to the city's shopping center. Several others have been running excursions to different parts of the destination,” highlighted the president of the Port Authority, José García Fuentes.
The Marina ship is the third ship of the newly opened season in Motril and will continue next Monday with the Sea Cloud sailboat, a classic in the port that will spend the night to set sail the following day.
