An exclusive event on Silversea 's 2024 Far-East-West World Cruise . Passengers aboard the Silver Shadow were transported to the heart of Australia for an evening at Uluru, enriched by a fusion of Indigenous cuisine and local culture.

Preceded by a tour of Bruce Munro's Field of Light, guests were taken on a culinary journey curated by Indigenous chef Mark Olive. At the Sails in the Desert resort, a menu inspired by native Australian flavors was served, from wild tomato soup to slow-cooked lamb, all paired with a selection of wines.
Proud Bunjalung man, chef Mark Oliveexpressed his enthusiasm for the event: “Tonight was a celebration of the rich, yet often unexplored, flavors of Indigenous Australian ingredients. It was an honor to share this culinary journey with Silversea World Cruise guests and highlight the beauty and diversity of Aboriginal culture through food.”
The evening was not only a celebration of gastronomy, but also a tribute to rich culture. With the participation of First Nations artists, passengers were immersed in ancestral dances, music, and storytelling.
Jannie Cloete, Director of Experiences and Events at Silversea, highlighted the importance of this unique experience that aligns with the brand's SALT program, which seeks to connect travelers with destinations through gastronomy and local culture.
With this exceptional event at Uluru and other highlights on the itinerary, such as the night on the USS Missouri in Honolulu, Silversea continues to offer exclusive experiences that transcend the conventional, thus redefining the concept of luxury travel.
