Mitsui Ocean Cruises , introduced by the Japanese group MOL at the end of 2023, will begin its services in December with the former Seabourn Odyssey.
The ship is scheduled to set sail on its first round-the-world voyage on April 12, 2025, sailing round trip from Yokohama. The 100-day itinerary is divided into four distinct segments and includes visits to a total of 24 ports of call in 16 countries around the world.
The first part of the cruise explores Asia and Africa with visits to eight destinations in both regions.
After leaving Japan, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji will set sail for Asian ports such as Taiwan, Vietnam and Malaysia.
On the way to Europe, the itinerary also includes visits to Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
After transiting the Suez Canal, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji spends two days docked in Alexandria, concluding the first part of the cruise in the Egyptian port.
The second segment of the round-the-world cruise will explore the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, with stops at nine additional destinations.
Ports of call include Santorini (Greece), Salerno (Italy), and Nice (France). The Mitsui Ocean Fuji will also visit Barcelona, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Amsterdam, Netherlands; before completing this leg of the itinerary in the English port of Portsmouth.
After a transatlantic crossing, the ship sails to different parts of America during the following parts of the cruise.
In addition to a full transit through the Panama Canal and stops in Ecuador and Mexico, the itinerary includes several destinations in the United States, including ports in Florida, New York, California and Alaska.
Acquired from Seabourn in early 2023, the 450-guest Mitsui Ocean Fuji will be the first ship in the Mitsui Ocean Cruises fleet
According to the MOL Group, the new brand was designed to offer a combination of high-quality Japanese service “Omotenashi” with Western-style luxury equipment.
