Oceania Cruises is partnering with the gastronomic publication Food & Wine to host an “Editor’s Cruise” with Hunter Lewis aboard the newly refurbished Riviera ship.
This cruise offers a unique opportunity for food lovers, with a culinary demonstration by Hunter Lewis, Oceania Cruises' signature gala brunch, an exclusive Dom Pérignon experience at La Reserve, and many more culinary experiences.
In addition, they will have special guests, including J'nai Gaither, journalist for “Wine Enthusiast” since 2020, one of the most relevant magazines worldwide, as well as Alex Prud'homme, a prominent culinary author and recognized worldwide after having written, together with his aunt Julia Child, the famous book My Life in France on which the film Julie & Julia was based.
The “Food & Wine Editor’s Cruise” will set sail on September 11, 2024 from Barcelona, exploring culinary hotspots in the Mediterranean, such as Saint-Tropez, Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples, before concluding on September 21 in Athens (Piraeus), Greece.
Food lovers who decide to embark on this itinerary will be able to enjoy two dinners included in the Chef's Market focused on each destination, the legendary Oceania Cruises afternoon tea at Horizon's and the famous gala brunch.
In addition, they can choose from numerous additional options such as the “Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, the most exclusive space on the ship for a maximum of 8 guests, special wine tastings and shore excursions focused primarily on gastronomy.
Oceania Cruises stands out with a team led by two Master Chefs from France: Alexis Quaretti, Senior Culinary Director, and Eric Barale, Culinary Vice President.

Itinerary
Oceania Riviera - with a capacity for 1250 guests - will explore Africa and Asia in late 2024 and throughout 2025 with three completely new itineraries.
The jewel of these itineraries is a 59-day “Grand Voyage”, an opportunity that offers guests the chance to explore off-the-beaten-path ports in Africa and Asia.
Thus, the Riviera will set sail from Barcelona, stop in the Canary Islands, before heading along the west coast of Africa with days at sea and calling at attractive ports in Senegal, Gambia, Ghana and an overnight stop in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
At the southernmost point of the journey, guests will enjoy an overnight stay in Cape Town before heading up the east coast through Madagascar, spending another night in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania; and then on to the Seychelles, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, before culminating the journey with another overnight stop in Singapore.
Riviera Remodeling
Oceania Riviera has undergone a complete rejuvenation, with all suites and staterooms redesigned with new custom furnishings, wood finishes, and design details that exude the distinctive essence of Oceania Cruises. Some highlights include:
- The Concierge Level Veranda and Veranda are the largest standard cabins at sea, at 27 m2.
- All Penthouse Suites and staterooms have been redesigned, bringing a comforting home feel with renovated bathrooms in Italian marble.
- All the lounges and bars, as well as the various lunch and dinner venues, have been redesigned, elevating the social experiences while maintaining a homey atmosphere.
- The outdoor dining area has also been revamped with a new pizzeria and trattoria, featuring a variety of artisanal pizzas, grilled Italian specialties, healthy options, and memorable desserts every night.
