The Norwegian Sky is ready to begin its homeporting season in the Dominican Republic.
Starting today, Norwegian Cruise Line's ship, the Norwegian Sky, will offer a series of cruises from nine to 14 nights departing from La Romana.
Sailing into the southern and eastern Caribbean, intensive port itineraries visit a number of destinations in the region, such as Tortola and St. Vincent.
On the first departure of the program, the Norwegian Sky offers a 14-night cruise to 14 different ports.
The itinerary, a round trip from La Romana, includes visits to Philipsburg (Saint Maarten), Tortola (British Virgin Islands), Basseterre (Saint Kitts), San Juan (Antigua), Roseau (Dominica), Castries (Saint Lucia), Bridgetown (Barbados), Scarborough (Tobago), Saint George (Grenada), Kralendijk (Bonaire), Oranjestad (Aruba), Willemstad (Curacao) and Catalina Island (Dominican Republic).
The winter program in the Southern Caribbean, which will run until the end of April, also includes a repositioning cruise to Miami.
The outbound itinerary lasts three nights and includes a visit to Puerto Plata before arriving in South Florida.
Once in PortMiami, the Norwegian Sky will resume its regular three- to nine-night cruise program to the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean.
After an autumn season in Canada and New England, the ship begins its first winter season in Asia and the Indian Ocean in November.
The program includes itineraries through the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Far East, Africa and the Seychelles, among others.
The Norwegian Sky will return to the Dominican Republic to operate more itineraries departing from La Romana during the winter of 2025-26.
Fresh out of a routine dry dock at the Grand Bahama shipyard, the Norwegian Sky originally entered service in 1999.
Built in Germany, the 77,000-ton vessel can accommodate more than 2,000 guests and features over 240 balcony cabins.
