Viking Cruises ' new ship will be called Viking Vesta and is expected to enter service in mid-2025.
Following the Viking Vela, built in 2024, this luxury ship will be slightly larger than its predecessors. The Vesta, the twelfth ocean-going cruise ship built for the brand since the Viking Star's debut in 2015, will be ten meters longer and two meters wider than its predecessors. The additional space will allow for the addition of new cabins, increasing the ship's capacity to 998 guests.
Part of the Viking Vesta's inaugural program is also available on the Viking website. After entering service in early July, the new ship will offer a series of Mediterranean cruises.
The program includes trips of seven to 21 nights to different destinations in the region, such as the Greek Islands, the French Riviera and the Adriatic Sea, among others.
Among the itineraries is the 12-night “Mediterranean Odyssey”, which sails from Venice to Barcelona and offers destinations in Italy, Croatia, Greece, Monaco, France and Spain.
The Viking Vesta will also offer two cruises to Northern Europe and Iceland during its inaugural season.
The 14-night trips to Iceland, Portugal, Spain, England and Ireland will take place shortly after the ship's inaugural cruise in July.
According to Viking, the new Vesta is a small vessel designed to “dock where larger ships cannot.”.
On board, the 47,000-ton vessel offers a range of facilities including a full-service wellness center, two specialty restaurants, a main dining room, and a theater.
The Viking Vesta will also offer several bars and lounges, a winter garden, two pool decks, and different cabin categories, including the Owner's Suite.
This multi-room, 140-square-meter accommodation is the largest on board and features a range of amenities including a dining area for six, a private library, a dry sauna overlooking the ocean, and much more.
