The Costa Firenze, built in 2021, departed from Savona for a 14-night itinerary through Spain, Italy, Portugal and France.
The cruise through the Western Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and Madeira includes visits to Barcelona, Cadiz, Valencia, Arrecife de Lanzarote, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Madeira and Marseille.
After returning to Italy on January 21, the Costa Firenze is ready to begin a transition period before debuting for Carnival Cruise Line in April of this year.
The preparation includes a major dry dock, which will adapt the ship for its debut in the North American market.
Along with its sister ship Carnival Venezia, the Firenze will become the company's second Carnival Fun Italian Style concept ship.
The experience includes Italian-themed cruises that combine Carnival's traditional product with a European ambiance.
Originally built to serve the Chinese market, the Costa Firenze features public areas and cabins inspired by the Italian city of Florence.
Although most of the onboard spaces will be retained during the upcoming refurbishment, iconic spaces from the Carnival Cruise Line fleet will also be created.
These include an Italian-themed version of Guy's Burger Joint , a European-themed Limelight Lounge , and a full Hero's Tribute Bar .
The ship, which can accommodate 4,232 guests, also offers key features such as a two-story pool deck with a sliding glass roof, a water park, a large casino, and a wellness center.
During its inaugural season for Carnival, the Firenze will operate a year-round cruise program to the Mexican Riviera and Baja California from the port of Long Beach.
The itineraries include four- to seven-night departures to popular destinations in the region, such as Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, and others.
