The Mediterranean, with its azure waters, medieval cities, exquisite cuisine, and centuries-old history, is a region that never disappoints. The cruise line has scheduled a spectacular season with 75 voyages to this classic destination between March and November 2024. Destinations include the Greek islands on a cruise that begins and ends in Athens, exploring the most famous islands of the Greek archipelago as well as Kusadasi in Turkey; or a 21-day voyage from Fusina (Venice) to Barcelona, visiting 21 ports in 7 countries, from Venice along the Dalmatian Coast, Bari, Montenegro, Malta and Albania, with six stops in Italian ports and two days on the glamorous French Riviera, before arriving in Spain and visiting Mahón, Palma, Alicante, Valencia and Barcelona.
The Silversea ships that will sail the Mediterranean in 2024 are the Silver Dawn, the Silver Spirit, the Silver Whisper, the Silver Moon, and the new Nova-class ship Silver Ray, which will join the fleet in 2024. This is the sister ship of the Silver Nova, powered by liquefied natural gas and with a capacity for 728 passengers.
The Silver Ray will debut on May 20 with a trip from Southampton to Lisbon and will venture into the Mediterranean to offer routes from Venice and Athens during the summer, before crossing the ocean to spend a season in South America.
The Silver Ray boasts an innovative asymmetrical design with extensive use of glass in both the public areas and suites, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The suites feature a new design, many with 270-degree views. The ship is also remarkably spacious, with an exceptional space-to-passenger ratio. Eight restaurants and a wide selection of bars complete the experience.
