The A-ROSA Sena of A-ROSA River Cruises, its flagship vessel, was awarded the prize for best crew area at the Cruise Ship Interior (CSI) Awards held in London on November 30, 2023.
“We are delighted to have won this award,” says Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH. “Together with the Hamburg-based team at JOI-Design, we have brought the design of urban boutique hotels to the river and set a new standard in the industry.” The same team designed the crew and guest areas.
“We wanted to create a home away from home on board for our employees, so they would feel comfortable and could always give their best while working“.
The crew area of the A-ROSA SENA features elegant double cabins with ample space for individuality, as well as modern officers' cabins. For the first time on a river cruise, there is a crew lounge where they can meet and socialize. They also have a crew deck at the stern of the ship and a crew mess with its own buffet area.
“We designed the crew area taking into account the wishes and needs of the crew members,” explains Markus Zoepke, Managing Director of A-ROSA Reederei GmbH. “Our goal was to create a place where the crew could relax and unwind after a long day’s work. We are even more pleased that we have now received confirmation not only from our crew that we have successfully achieved this on A-ROSA SENA, but also from the prestigious CSI awards.”
A-ROSA aims to maintain the high standards of its crew areas in future new constructions. Therefore, the company relies on crew feedback. “We welcome any comments that help us continue to improve the crew area,” Zoepke concludes.
