Italian cruise ports will break a new record in 2024, exceeding 13 million passengers thanks to more than 5,000 port calls, the highest figure in the last 10 years.
According to the Italian Cruise Watch 2024 report, published by the tourism research company Risposte Turismo and presented last Friday at the 11th edition of Italian Cruise Day, Italian cruise ports will accumulate 13.1 million passengers and just over 5,000 port calls in 2024, representing an increase of 1.8% and 0.7% respectively compared to the closing figures forecast for this year.
This year's event was held at the Aragonese Castle of Taranto, in collaboration with the Ionian Sea Port System Authority and the Taranto City Council, and was attended by representatives of several international cruise companies operating in Italy, national cruise ports, local authorities, agencies and cruise terminal operators.
