The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection celebrated a major milestone in its construction with the launch of its newest yacht, the Ilma, at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The launch of the Ilma, which will debut in 2024, was attended by Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection executives, including Jim Murren, executive chairman and chief executive officer, and Ernesto Fara, president and finance director.
Representatives of Chantiers de l'Atlantique were also in attendance, such as Laurent Castaing, CEO, and Arnaud Le Joncour, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
As part of the drydock, the vessel was filled with water overnight and moved to an outfitting dock, where it will remain until sea trials begin in April. The final phase of construction will include completing the interiors, fittings, and fixtures of the suites, restaurants, and other public spaces aboard the Ilma.
“We are immensely proud of the dedication and craftsmanship of everyone involved in the construction of Ilma,” said Murren. “We are delighted to have partnered with the team at Chantiers de l'Atlantique and are excited to enter the next phase of construction and outfitting in anticipation of the yacht’s maiden voyage next year, further expanding our fleet and vision within the ultra-luxury space.”
