According to data from Puertos del Estado (State Ports Authority), Spanish ports have received 2,675 cruise ships with 7.3 million passengers up to August of this year. This figure is 8.9% higher than that of the same period in 2019, confirming the recovery of the cruise sector in Spain after the pandemic.
As for cruise traffic, more than 1.2 million passengers were recorded last August, a figure 16% higher than the same month before the pandemic.
According to Puertos del Estado, 2,675 cruise ships arrived at Spanish ports up to August, most of them at the Port of Barcelona, with more than 2.2 million passengers, followed by the Balearic Islands, with 1.6 million passengers, Las Palmas, with more than 800,000 passengers and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
