This week, Windstar Cruises President Christopher Prelog celebrates three years at the helm of the small cruise line, commemorating a remarkable tenure that began in the depths of the pandemic.
From the relaunch of fleet operations in 2021 to the debut of three completely redesigned ships in 2022 (through what is considered the industry's most complex renovation and expansion project), along with the relocation of the line's headquarters from Seattle to Miami.
Prelog began his cruise ship career as a waiter, progressing from onboard experience to shore-based leadership with a style perfectly suited to the realities of being part of a cruise ship crew.
He is in his third year as president with record sales, an expanded team, new destinations including dozens of newly added cruises and air and hotel packages, exciting cultural and environmental partnerships, and a revitalized devotion to excellence on board, as well as to the travel advisor community.
Along with the anniversary, Windstar is pleased to announce a new Windstar President's Cruise in April 2024 to the Canary Islands, a region where Windstar is significantly expanding its operations and offerings starting next year. In addition to several new cruises to the Canary Islands in 2024, Windstar will sail there regularly from November 2025 through March 2026.
On the eight-day Captivating Canary Islands President's Cruise, which departs from Las Palmas on April 20 and sails to Lisbon, guests will have the opportunity to meet Prelog personally and spend time with him where he feels most comfortable: at sea.
