The Seaburn Pursuit operated by Seaburn Cruise Line, made its maiden call at the Port of Valencia today. Francesca Antonelli, Head of Marketing and Cruises at the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), presented the traditional socarrat—a Valencian terracotta tile with maritime motifs that Valenciaport awards to ships docking for the first time—to the cruise ship's captain, Stig Betten.

Antonelli highlighted that “cruise tourism in our city is growing sustainably; some of it is family tourism cruises and some – like this ship – is luxury tourism, with an advanced average age that requires a high level of service at the destination and an accessible city.”.
Betten noted that “70% of the passengers disembarked to visit various areas of the city.” The cruise passengers who left the ship today were divided into four groups for visits: the City of Arts and Sciences and the Oceanographic, the Albufera lagoon, a tour of Jewels of the Present and Past, and a free excursion.
This cruise ship, handled by Transcoma, arrived in Valencia today from Barcelona and will depart at 6:00 p.m. bound for Lisbon.
The city of Valencia is a mid-sized destination for the tourism sector, offering a wide range of urban and cultural activities, along with new options for outdoor enthusiasts, sports lovers, and hikers, as well as more sustainable choices like bike tours and skateboarding. Furthermore, the city promotes gastronomic, wine, musical, and historical experiences, making Valencia a multifaceted and diverse destination that facilitates travel and avoids overcrowding.
In this regard, Antonelli highlighted, “work is underway to boost cruise activity beyond the city and its surroundings, in the inland regions and in the municipalities of the province that want to attract these tourists who dock throughout the year at the docks of the Port of Valencia.
