Crystal Symphony, the second Crystal ship to be relaunched after the recent return to service of Crystal Serenity, successfully completed sea trials ahead of its maiden cruise from Athens, Greece, on September 1.
Currently in the final stages of an extensive refurbishment at the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy, the vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians, and engineers on board who thoroughly tested the ship's mechanical, technical, and navigation systems, all of which passed inspection. Furthermore, the company ensured that the fireproof panels were properly certified and free of defects.
“Following the launch of Crystal Serenity on July 31, we are delighted that Crystal Symphony has completed sea trials and is one step closer to returning to service in just a few weeks,” said Roberto Fazi, Senior Vice President of Marine Operations. “Being able to relaunch our brand and two ships in such a short timeframe is unprecedented, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible work of our management and teams, both onboard and ashore. Nor would we be here without our partners at Fincantieri who worked tirelessly to deliver this beautiful ship on time.”.
When guests first board, they'll find larger, renovated suites with handcrafted finishes and revamped specialty restaurants, including the new Osteria d'Ovidio, which pays homage to Crystal's CEO, Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, and his family's Northern Italian heritage. They'll also be welcomed with state-of-the-art onboard wellness, including the completely renovated and renamed Aurōra Spa, as well as a new pickleball court and revitalized entertainment and events. What hasn't changed is the exceptional service and one of the best staff-to-guest ratios in the industry.
Crystal Symphony will spend the rest of the summer in Europe after its inaugural cruise from Athens before moving to Africa in October and then organizing trips to Australia and Asia.
