The first Nova-class ship for Silversea®, the Silver Nova℠, embarks on its maiden voyage on August 14, departing from Venice, Italy.

Sailing on a seven-day voyage through the Adriatic, the Silver Nova will make stops in Piran, Slovenia; Zadar, Dubrovnik, Split, and Rovinj in Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro. One of the most environmentally conscious ultra-luxury cruise ships ever built, the Silver Nova is Silversea’s 12th ship and the first to be launched this year for Royal Caribbean Group® (NYSE: RCL), becoming the 64th ship in its global fleet. Prior to its departure, Royal Caribbean Group and Silversea executives hosted a three-day architectural preview for select travel agents and members of the press, sailing round-trip from Venice.
“The Silver Nova revolutionizes ultra-luxury cruising and sets a new standard,” said Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “From its innovative horizontal design to its emphasis on sustainable operations, the Silver Nova reflects Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to providing the world’s greatest vacations, responsibly.”
“It was incredibly exciting to welcome guests aboard Silver Nova ahead of her maiden voyage,” said Barbara Muckermann, President of Silversea Cruises. “Benefiting from an innovative asymmetrical design, she immerses guests in the destination at every moment, a powerful expression of our brand mission. As one of the most spacious ships at sea, and with the largest selection of bars, lounges, and restaurants of any ultra-luxury cruise ship, Silver Nova elevates the guest experience like never before. I want to thank Jason Liberty and everyone involved at Silversea, Royal Caribbean Group, and Meyer Werft. A special thank you to the Royal Caribbean Group New Ships team, without whom this would not have been possible, and to the incredible Silver Nova, led by Captain Mino Pontillo, for their invaluable support in launching this groundbreaking ship.”
A COMPLETELY NEW LUXURY EXPERIENCE AT SEA
The Silver Nova introduces a completely new luxury experience at sea. Its innovative design, which prioritizes openness over symmetry and incorporates an unprecedented use of approximately 4,000 square meters of glass, immerses guests in the destination from virtually every space and suite, with panoramic views around every turn. Its redesigned pool deck, facing the water to starboard, and the new outdoor spaces, the Dusk Bar and the Marquee, best exemplify its unique openness to the destination.
One of the most spacious cruise ships ever built, Silver Nova boasts a space ratio of 75 GRT per guest, the highest in the Silversea fleet. It offers one of the most personalized service levels at sea with a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1.3, including butler service for all suites. Silver Nova accommodates up to 728 guests in 13 different suite categories—the largest suite variety in Silversea's history and among the most spacious accommodations on any cruise ship. Each suite offers guests the use of a private balcony. The largest option is the new 123 m² Otium Suite, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering 270-degree views from its prime position at the ship's aft corner. It also features a 40 m² balcony with its own Jacuzzi.
Further enriching the onboard experience are the largest selection of bars, restaurants, and lounges on ultra-luxury cruises; Otium, the cruise line's Rome-inspired wellness program, complete with new enhancements; and its innovative culinary program, Sea and Land Taste (SALT), which includes an onboard ecosystem of culinary discovery, immersive shore excursions, food talks, culinary masterclasses, and more.
Following its maiden voyage, the Silver Nova will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before heading to the Caribbean and South America in November. On January 4, 2024, it will embark on the Grand Voyage South America , visiting 38 destinations in 18 countries.
The Silver Nova 's sister ship , the Silver Ray℠, is scheduled to be launched in the summer of 2024.
