MSC Cruises has announced that it will deploy the MSC Splendida as its second ship in China in 2024, following the previous announcement of the MSC Bellissima's operation. This means that MSC Cruises will be the only international cruise line with two ships in China in 2024. It has also extended its service with the MSC Bellissima from April to September 2024, operating itineraries from Shenzhen and Shanghai.

Helen Huang, president of MSC Cruises China, commented that on the day they announced the first spring 2024 itineraries for MSC Bellissima, the number of direct sales bookings in a single day reached the highest record in the company's history in the country, and as expected, the Yacht Club suites contributed the most revenue.
“Clearly, there is strong demand for holidays at sea in China, and our decision to deploy two modern ships in 2024 with our Yacht Club 'ship-within-a-ship' concept amply demonstrates a rapid recovery in the Chinese and Asian cruise industry and an appetite for premium travel.”.
The MSC Bellissima will make its debut in Shenzhen on June 29 with eight two- to five-night voyages visiting Hong Kong, Okinawa, the Yaeyama Islands and Miyako Island, then operate eight four- to six-night voyages from Shanghai to Japan from July 31 to September 6, including Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Osaka, Okinawa and Shimonoseki.
Japan is another of the great attractions of MSC Cruises' operations in Asia.
The MSC Splendida's 2024 winter itineraries from Shenzhen are not yet available.
