Celebrity Cruises has unveiled details of the culinary and beverage program planned for its newest ship, the Celebrity Ascent. The fourth ship in the Edge series, the Ascent will delight travelers with redesigned restaurants, a new immersive dining experience, expanded food and cocktail menus, a new whisky tasting experience, and a multi-course plant-based dinner.
“The memories we create with family and friends while sharing food and drinks have long been one of the most memorable parts of
travel, and with Celebrity Ascent we seek to take every opportunity to enrich these experiences and make them even more exciting for our guests,” says Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises.
A new Le Voyage: Chef Daniel Boulud's signature restaurants, Celebrity's Global Culinary Ambassador, will bring his at-sea dining concept to the Celebrity Ascent. Le Voyage will feature a completely redesigned layout. Guests will enjoy a global menu curated by Chef Boulud himself, featuring dishes inspired by his personal travels and favorite destinations around the world. For the ultimate dining experience, groups can reserve the Chef's Table, a private dining room for six, with a multi-course tasting menu and exceptional wine pairings. In true Boulud style, diners are treated to his homemade madeleines at the end of each meal.
Plant-based flavors and options
The three-story Eden restaurant, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, offers a casual cafe, cocktail bar, entertainment space, outdoor terrace and signature restaurant, all of which come alive at night with a fusion of music and performances.
With the arrival of Ascent, travelers will have the opportunity to experience world cuisine in its purest form through a new seven-course, plant-based tasting menu. It can be enjoyed as a tasting menu or à la carte, and diners can also choose from organic and vegan wine pairings.
With the Edge series ships, Celebrity introduced a new dining concept, expanding from a single main dining room to four main restaurants, each offering a distinct culinary style and signature dishes. Aboard the Ascent, travelers will continue to enjoy New American cuisine at the Cosmopolitan; Mediterranean cuisine at Cyprus; contemporary French cuisine at Normandie; and Italian cuisine at Tuscan.
Celebrity offers the immersive, high-tech Le Pefit Chef dining experience, featuring a multi-course menu brought to life by colorful and engaging animations of a young chef who tells the story behind each dish. The animation for each course culminates in a digital version, and then the actual dish is perfectly placed before the diner.
Celebrity Cruises offers an extensive spirits program, and even more so on the Ascent with partnerships with Jack Daniel's, Macallan, and WhistlePig Whiskey. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy the Ascent's extensive wine lists, as well as its expert, certified sommeliers, wine tasting seminars, and round-the-world experiences.
At the heart of each Edge-class ship is the Grand Plaza, with the Marfini Bar as its main focal point. The Ascent's Marfini Bar will feature a new, expanded menu, offering classic marfinis, fruit-infused creations, and tempting dessert marfinis.
The Celebrity Ascent will make its grand debut this November, when it sets sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale for its inaugural season in the Caribbean.
