For the twelfth consecutive year, Renfe and Costa Cruises have renewed their collaboration agreement, which aims to jointly promote Renfe's rail transport services and recreational maritime transport. This will connect the ports of Barcelona and Valencia with major Spanish cities, facilitating passenger transfers to and from their cruise embarkation ports.
Cities like Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Cordoba or Zaragoza will enjoy maximum comfort thanks to this agreement, since they will begin their cruise from home under the "door to port" concept, through a single combined ticket that includes the entire journey with all the advantages and guarantees of Renfe.
This collaboration agreement has been signed by the senior vice president and global commercial director of Costa Cruises, Roberto Alberti; the general manager of Costa Cruises for Spain, France and Portugal, Luigi Stefanelli; the director of sea and air connections of Costa Cruises, Massimo Calleghari; and the commercial and sales director of Renfe, Javier Marín.
Luigi Stefanelli, Managing Director of Costa Cruises for Spain, France, and Portugal, commented: “In 2023, we expect to continue growing from the positive results of 2022 by expanding our connections.” He also emphasized that: “This agreement, signed with a high-quality partner like Renfe, is further proof that our constant pursuit of excellence in service and product is the driving force behind our success.”
For his part, Javier Marín, Renfe's Commercial Director, highlighted that: “Costa Cruises passengers will be able to enjoy the comfort of Renfe's AVE high-speed train to and from their port of embarkation, traveling at 300 kilometers per hour powered solely by 100% renewable electricity.” He also thanked Costa Cruises for the trust they have placed in Renfe as a strategic partner and for sharing their commitment to sustainability.
The relationship between Costa Cruises and Renfe will allow the chartering of entire trains to facilitate the boarding of large groups of passengers, as well as the booking of personalized cars and seats for people with reduced mobility who require the Assistance Service, as well as the rest of the services and advantages that Renfe offers its customers.
Renfe and Costa Cruises offer cruise passengers tickets a year in advance, allowing them to make reservations at a fixed price and with the guarantee of high-quality service, which includes transfers to the embarkation points of the Costa Diadema every Friday in Valencia, and of the Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana on Mondays and Sundays respectively in Barcelona.
