Princess Cruises' second Sphere-class cruise ship will be named Star Princess

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyards in Italy, the Star Princess joins the Sun Princess as the largest ship ever built by Princess, at 175,500 tons and with a capacity for 4,300 guests. Although 20% larger than any of the company's current ships, the Star Princess's design retains the ambiance for which Princess is known, with a number of new spaces including:
• The Dome, a transformative leisure space inspired by the terraces of Santorini
• The Piazza, a new-level glass sphere
• The Princess Arena, a configurable, technologically advanced main theater that allows Princess to produce a variety of innovative entertainment concepts
• A majestic three-story dining room located at the stern of the ship to offer unforgettable views.

This second ship in the Sphere class will also offer new dining and beverage concepts; a magnificent, expanded casino; a two-story Lotus Spa; and captivating entertainment headlined by Cirque Éloize. Star Princess will also showcase the exclusive Princess Medallion service.

The new ship will be the second in the Princess fleet to be powered by LNG fuel technology and is also being built with the most advanced sustainable innovations available.

The Star Princess will debut on August 4, 2025, with an inaugural nine-day round-trip Mediterranean voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia), with destinations including Corfu, Kotor, Mykonos, Santorini, and Naples (for Capri and Pompeii), followed by a variety of 10-day round-trip cruises from Rome visiting idyllic coastal ports.

“There is so much to admire about the Star Princess: its elegant and striking design, its spacious interiors and, of course, its extraordinary views of the sea and sky,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises.

More details about the Star Princess, such as restaurants, entertainment, onboard services and future itineraries, will be revealed in the coming months.
