Jim Murren has been appointed CEO of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection following Douglas Prothero's decision to step down. Prothero, the company's founder, will continue as a director on the board and a strategic advisor to Murren.
Prothero has driven the company's growth since its founding in 2013, culminating in the delivery of the Evrima last year and the current construction of two LNG-powered ships: the Ilma and the Luminara.
For his part, Murran has several decades of experience in hospitality and entertainment, co-chairing Cirque du Soleil and having led MGM Resorts International from 2008 to 2020. In addition, Murran played a pivotal role in introducing professional sports to Las Vegas and was one of the early leaders in the sports betting market.
