Viking has taken delivery of the company's newest ocean-going vessel, the Viking Saturn. The handover ceremony took place this morning at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
Viking also announced that the Viking Saturn will be officially christened in New York on June 6, 2023, by its ceremonial godmother, Ann Ziff, the esteemed philanthropist and president of the Metropolitan Opera, a longtime cultural partner of Viking.
Following the christening ceremony, the ship will spend its inaugural summer sailing on two new Viking voyages: Iconic Iceland, Greenland & Canada, between New York and Reykjavik, and Iceland & Norway's Arctic Explorer, between Reykjavik and Bergen.

The Metropolitan Opera has been a cultural partner of Viking since 2016. Onboard Viking's ocean-going vessels.
The Viking Saturn is the newest ship in Viking's ocean fleet, which consists of identical sister ships. Viking's ocean-going vessels have a gross tonnage of 47,800, with 465 cabins accommodating 930 guests; the ships feature all veranda cabins, Scandinavian design, light-filled public spaces, and ample al fresco dining options.
The delivery of the Viking Saturn comes as Viking continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
