Seabourn Cruise Line celebrated the traditional coin-throwing ceremony at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa on the new expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit, which will be delivered to the shipping company next June.
Lynn Narraway, the company's UK and European vice president, was the ship's godmother, and she soldered a box containing four gold coins. Narraway said, "It is an honor to be part of this tradition as godmother of the Seabourn Pursuit."
The celebration was attended by Robin West, Vice President and General Manager of Expeditions at Seabourn; Marco Bisagno, President of T. Mariotti Shipyard; and Marco Ghiglione, the shipyard's General Manager.
The cruise ship will begin its inaugural season on August 12, 2023, making five trips around the Mediterranean before embarking on two cruises across the Atlantic and the Caribbean.
