Global Ports Canary Islands SL, a joint venture between Global Ports Holding and its partner Sepcan, has been awarded the prize for outstanding company in the ports of the province of Las Palmas at the 26th edition of the Las Palmas Ports Awards 2023. The awards, organized by the Port Authority of Las Palmas and the Las Palmas Ports Foundation, aim to recognize the most significant contributors to the development and innovation of the ports of Las Palmas in the previous year.
The award was given in recognition of Global Ports Holding & Sepcan's commitment to developing sustainable and eco-efficient cruise terminals in the cruise ports of Las Palmas, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote. The company will build four state-of-the-art terminals, including a 14,000-square-meter facility in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The project includes a new, sustainable terminal building and infrastructure improvements at the Port of Las Palmas. The project features a 14,400 m² terminal constructed from sustainable recycled materials to achieve a low carbon footprint, which will facilitate smoother operations at one of Spain's busiest ports. The Port of Las Palmas, capable of simultaneously accommodating the world's largest cruise ships, will offer new retail and dining options, parking for 40 buses, and an improved infrastructure.
