Inspired by the legendary Italian ocean liners, the Costa Fortuna, refurbished in 2019, is back in action and offers some very appealing two-week routes.
Between April and October 2023, these will be the Costa Fortuna's cruises:
Nature in its purest form
14 nights. France, Italy, Canary Islands and Madeira from Barcelona (possibility of also boarding in Malaga, Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife)
Departures on April 23, May 11 and 25, June 8, August 31, September 14
This route begins in the Mediterranean, visiting Marseille , the capital of Provence and the second most populous city in France, before continuing to Savona , Italy, the gateway to Liguria. The third stop is Civitavecchia, from where you can explore Rome before the ship sets sail for Málaga , one of the most beautiful cities on the Iberian Peninsula and one of the best places in the world to live.
After crossing the Strait of Gibraltar, the second, more tropical part of the journey begins, visiting first Fuerteventura, then Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and finally Santa Cruz de Tenerife. From there, it continues to Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira, a true paradise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, from where the Costa Fortuna will begin its return to Barcelona.
Towards temples and blue waters
14 nights. France, Italy, Greece and Palma from Barcelona (possibility of boarding in Palma de Mallorca)

This route combines the best of the Western Mediterranean and the best of the Greek Islands. The first stop will be Marseille, capital of the French Provence, with its vast lavender fields, followed by Savona, where the Alps meet the Apennines. The Costa Fortuna will then call at Civitavecchia, providing an easy base for visiting Rome, and before setting sail for the Greek Islands, it will stop in Messina, allowing us to explore the island of Sicily and its famous town of Taormina.
After a day at sea, the Greek Islands tour begins. Heraklion , the capital of Crete, will be the first stop, where we can visit the Minoan Palace of Knossos. Next comes Rhodes, a city that will surprise you with its impressive medieval old town, the seat of the Order of Malta for two centuries. The following day, in Mykonos, the landscape is completely different: a labyrinth of white houses with blue doors and windows. The same palette is repeated the next day in Santorini, although here the enormous cliff below the villages of Fira and Tira adds even more dramatic scenery. Finally, a stop in Argostoli will allow us to discover the beautiful Melissani Cave, and on the way back to Barcelona, a stop in our beloved Palma de Mallorca will be the perfect ending to two weeks of total relaxation.
The journey of a thousand wonders
14 nights. France, Italy, Türkiye, Greece and Malta from Barcelona.
Departures on April 15, September 28 and October 12
This route begins like the previous two, with stops in Marseille, Savona, and Civitavecchia, but then visits Catania, a beautiful Sicilian city at the foot of Mount Etna. After two days at sea, the most important stop on this cruise arrives: Istanbul, where the Costa Fortuna will arrive at 9:00 a.m., spend the night in the city, and not depart until 1:00 p.m. the following day, allowing us to explore Istanbul thoroughly or combine it with excursions to the surrounding area.
Next, we'll stop in Izmir, another important Turkish city, from where we can take an excursion to the ruins of Ephesus. The following day, we'll wake up in Athens, another key destination on this cruise, where we'll visit the Parthenon on its world-famous Acropolis. The final stop before returning to Barcelona is Valletta, Malta, which is sure to impress us with its classical architectural beauty.
The ship: Costa Fortuna
Its décor is inspired by the Roaring Twenties, showcasing authentic reproductions of advertising posters from that era. It offers top-notch leisure and dining options for all ages: a three-story theater, a lounge bar, a games room, and a casino. In addition, it features a water park and exclusive areas for teenagers and children, while adults can relax with a cocktail on the solarium overlooking the sea or unwind at the Solemio Beauty Spa.
