Through a new set of unique voyages and unprecedented destinations, travelers will be able to explore both the most famous and lesser-known locations in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India, the Indian Ocean, and Africa. It will be the first time the luxury cruise brand has sailed in these regions.

The itineraries consist of 25 crossings and 14 extended voyages taking place between August 2024 and the end of April 2025, and will include 82 unique ports in 26 countries.

All the offerings are designed for the discerning traveler who wants to stay longer, depart later, and delve deeper into the experience at each destination. The brand offers cruisers a slower pace of travel, with unconventional arrival and departure times, as well as the opportunity to spend more time in each destination, staying overnight ashore while the cruise ship remains in port, to ensure a complete and exciting immersion in the local culture and environment.

Michael Ungerer, CEO of Explora Journeys, stated: “This marks a new chapter for the brand, and we are incredibly proud to present EXPLORA II and these new itineraries. Our portfolio of destinations continues to grow, and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard our ships to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime experiences in incredible countries, allowing them to reconnect with themselves while connecting with the people they meet, the environment, and the local communities.”

EXPLORA II will first sail the Mediterranean, arriving at ports in Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and Croatia. Passengers will have the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful cities and islands in the Mediterranean, such as the Eternal City of Rome, Sicily, and Menorca, proclaimed European Region of Gastronomy 2022. The ship will then travel to the Eastern Mediterranean, visiting the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Kalamata, and Corfu—all lands of ancient gods, unique architecture, distinctive flavors, and classical culture.

The ship will then sail into the Arabian Peninsula, heading towards Saudi Arabia, to explore the Red Sea coast and visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Al-Ula and Hegra. Next, the ship and its passengers will sail to the Persian Gulf to visit innovative, dynamic, and vibrant cities such as Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, known for their towering skyscrapers that stand alongside ancient palaces and beautiful mosques. EXPLORA II will then reach the coast of India, where cruisers can venture into the evergreen forests of the Western Ghats.

The journey of discovery will continue to the islands of the Indian Ocean, including the Seychelles and the Maldives, before reaching the natural sanctuaries of Africa with stops in Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar, Kenya, Mauritius and South Africa.

At each stop, Explora Journeys guests are invited to "leave behind" and delve deeper into some of the oldest cultures on the planet. To do so, they have before them a blend of ancient and modern cities, wild flora and fauna, music, festivals, crystal-clear waters, desert experiences, and UNESCO World Heritage sites—all accompanied by incredible cuisine.

Just like on EXPLORA I, EXPLORA II travelers will stay in "Homes at Sea," suites carefully designed to stimulate the senses and strengthen the connection with the ocean.

The culinary offerings aboard EXPLORA II will include twelve bars and lounges, as well as six restaurants featuring an exclusive selection of food and beverages. Under the direction of Chef Franck Garanger, Head of Culinary for Explora Journeys, guests can choose from incredible original menus, crafted with fresh, local ingredients inspired by each destination. The establishments will also offer a variety of healthy options so that all cruisers can enjoy a gastronomic journey while on board.

In keeping with its commitment to the environment, Explora Journeys will continue to invest in the latest environmental technologies. EXPLORA II features state-of-the-art selective catalytic reduction technology, reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90%. Furthermore, the vessel holds RINA DOLPHIN certification for underwater noise reduction and is equipped with ship-to-shore power supply capabilities to prevent CO2 emissionswhile docked.

Explora Journeys is constantly innovating and adapting to alternative energy solutions as they become available. With the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the brand recently announced that EXPLORA III and EXPLORA IV will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) engines, while EXPLORA V and EXPLORA VI will not only feature LNG engines but also hydrogen propulsion with industry-leading capabilities. The ships will incorporate next-generation technologies onboard and effectively address methane slippage issues. This includes a liquid hydrogen containment system that will allow them to utilize this promising low-carbon fuel. The hydrogen will power a six-megawatt fuel cell that will produce emission-free energy for hotel operations and enable the ships to operate with zero emissions while in port.
