MedCruise has appointed Mr. Nicky Guerrero as its new Secretary General. The position will be effective from 1 January 2023.
MedCruise President Figen Ayan stated: “As President of MedCruise, our Board of Directors, our secretariat, our port members, and associate members wish to express our sincere gratitude for the excellent work, dedication, and passion that Aimilia Papachristou has demonstrated over the years in her role as Secretary General of the MedCruise Association. The MedCruise family wishes Aimilia all the best in her new endeavors.”
Since Aimilia announced her move to another position in the maritime industry, I made the issue of her replacement a priority, and to that end I have evaluated many profiles and finally reached an agreement with Mr. Nicholas Guerrero.
I would like to warmly welcome Nicky to our family and I firmly believe that the transition will be extremely smooth, given the above and her experience.
Nicky was born, raised, and educated in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar and holds a degree from the University of Brighton, UK. Throughout his career, he has worked in the hospitality and tourism sector and, in 1997, joined the Gibraltar Tourist Office, where he served as Product Manager and Sales and Marketing Director. Nicky then became Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Tourist Office for the second half of its term before retiring in 2021 after 24 years with the Office. Nicky currently works as an independent consultant specializing in the cruise and airline sectors and has extensive experience in event management.
