The main change is the elimination of pre-departure testing on all sailings and ships. For Antarctic expedition cruises, guests will still be required to present a negative Covid-19 test to board.
Hurtigruten Expeditions will arrange testing for all guests during the transfer from Santiago, Chile, or Buenos Aires, Argentina. Antarctic cruise guests traveling independently to Ushuaia or Punta Arenas must arrange their own testing within 72 hours prior to embarkation.
Face masks are no longer mandatory on board or during disembarkations and shore adventures, but guests are still advised to wear them in public areas on board all ships.
Fully vaccinated ships
Hurtigruten Expeditions will continue to require proof of full vaccination with a WHO-approved vaccine before embarking on all voyages to ensure the health and safety of its guests and crew. This applies to all guests aged 12 and over. While recommended, a booster dose is no longer required.
All Hurtigruten Expeditions crew members on all ships are fully vaccinated.

We will offer our guests the best possible experience, with the peace of mind of exploring with us aboard a fully vaccinated ship,” said Iain McNeill, SVP of Operations at Hurtigruten Expeditions.
“They also ensure that ease of exploration is maintained, with guests enjoying some of the most spectacular areas on our planet, while knowing that the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew and the communities we visit is our number one priority,” McNeill said.
Testing and vaccination requirements may vary in some destinations depending on local regulations. Where testing is required, guests must provide proof of a negative test result, in accordance with local regulations.
