Viking's new riverboat, the Viking Saigon, has begun its inaugural season in Southeast Asia.

Built specifically for the Mekong River, the 80-passenger ship sails between Kampong Cham, Cambodia and Mỹ Tho, Vietnam, as part of the popular 15-day Viking Magnificent Mekong itinerary.
“The fascinating cultures of Vietnam and Cambodia have always made this region a favorite destination for our guests,” said Torstein Hagen, president of Viking. “We are also delighted to welcome back our first guests to Southeast Asia since early 2020.”
Featuring the clean Scandinavian design for which Viking is known, all cabins on the Viking Saigon have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with either a veranda or a French balcony. Guests on the three-deck Viking Saigon also enjoy a spa and fitness center, an infinity pool, and an open-air sky bar on the top deck.
The 15-day itinerary offers guests the chance to explore the cultural treasures of Vietnam and Cambodia with 16 guided tours.
Hotel stays in Hanoi, Siem Reap, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) highlight an eight-day journey along the Mekong River on this unique itinerary, during which guests can enjoy exploring Hanoi's Old Quarter and attending an Apsara dancer performance; sampling the distinctive fresh ingredients of bustling local markets and restaurants; strolling through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Khmer temple complex of Angkor Wat; visiting Ta Prohm, where jungle vines embrace ancient ruins; and seeing the sights of Phnom Penh by cyclo rickshaw.
On the part of the itinerary corresponding to the river journey, guests will be able to discover silk cities, fishing villages, monasteries and floating markets.
Until August 31, 2022, Viking is offering special savings on select river and ocean voyages as part of the company's 25th anniversary sale.
