Simpson's appointment reinforces the cruise line's leadership in the destination amid strong demand among travelers for ultra-luxury expedition cruises.
Reporting to Conrad Combrink, Senior Vice President of Expeditions, Destination and Itinerary Management, Bob Simpson will be responsible for creating and overseeing the implementation of the company's expedition product delivery strategy.
It will collaborate closely to continue developing and delivering innovative and unique expedition experiences around the world, with Silversea's five expedition ships exploring some of the world's most remote regions, including the two polar regions.
With an adventurous career of over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Simpson has been involved with expedition cruises since 1998 and has enormous experience in developing and operating expeditions in the Polar Regions and other remote destinations.
Simpson joins Silversea Cruises after serving as vice president of expedition cruises at Abercrombie & Kent, where he oversaw expedition product development and company operations for nearly 20 years.
