Norwegian Cruise Line has pulled back the curtain to reveal the cast of its highly anticipated main attraction, the musical “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” which will premiere aboard the new Norwegian Prima this August.
The Tony Award®-nominated musical tells the story of Donna Summer’s rise to fame, showcasing three stages of her career: Diva Donna, Disco Donna, and Duckling Donna. The company has announced the cast taking on the role of Donna Summer:
• “American Idol” Season 2 finalist Kimberly Locke in the breakout role of Diva Donna, portraying Summer at the height of her career.
• Valerie Curlingford, a remarkable artist from the Netherlands, will play Disco Donna. Curlingford will portray Summer in her teens and early twenties, when she first finds success in the iconic disco era of the 1970s.
• Duckling Donna will depict Summer growing up in Boston in the 1960s. The role will be played by D’Nasya Jordan, who recently starred as Little Inez in “Hairspray.”

The spectacular production will feature more than 20 of Summer's mega-hits in the 85-minute musical where the theater itself is completely transformed into a disco and guests can become part of the show and dance to the rhythm of Summer's all-time classics.

Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its unwavering commitment to bringing Broadway-caliber entertainment to the high seas, having previously debuted “Kinky Boots,” “Six,” “Jersey Boys,” “Footloose,” and many more shows on its current fleet of 17 ships, and this latest addition to the company’s program is another first for the cruise industry.
“Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” is just one of the captivating shows available aboard Norwegian Prima. Also sharing the Prima Theater residency are “Noise Boys!”, NCL’s top-rated entertainment program currently based on Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Escape.
As part of the additional entertainment offerings on Norwegian Prima, the company will also present interactive gaming experiences that allow the audience to become part of the show and have the chance to win incredible prizes. These immersive productions take over the Prima Theater and Nightclub and transform it into a grand production stage where guests can participate in some of the world's most legendary games.
