Explora Journeys has today presented its promotional short film “Ocean Journeys” as part of the celebration of its first anniversary.
Michael Ungerer, CEO of Explora Journeys, commented, “The film reveals the original concept on which Explora Journeys was founded: ‘immersive offshore experiences,’ a strong connection with the marine environment that is as alluring as it is difficult to achieve. This work captures the soul of that philosophy and makes it clear that Explora Journeys is the only way to achieve that immersion.”.
“Ocean Journeys,” in addition to evoking the sensory experiences passengers can enjoy on board, presents a new travel concept where the action unfolds in slow motion, without haste, fostering inner awareness to reconnect with oneself and others. It also describes the perceptible effect of the sea on physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being, reflecting the transformative experience offered by Explora Journeys, ideal for relaxing and recharging. “Ocean Journeys” offers a glimpse into what it means to embark on one of the brand's cruises in search of that longed-for connection with the sea.
Through this short film produced by BETC, guests can recreate the sensory journey they will experience on board. To achieve this, creative director Maud Mulder and director Nabil Senhaji have used an original narrative, evocative visuals, and immersive sound, created by Pierre Cousi and Antoine Citrino, to recreate the much-desired sense of immersion.
Filmed over several days against the backdrop of the unmistakable Mediterranean landscape, the short film takes viewers from Italy to the Balearic Islands. Part of a broader media package that includes hybrid and digital television options, the short was released to celebrate the first anniversary of the Explora Journeys brand and can be viewed here.
In the last 12 months, Explora Journeys has celebrated several crucial moments since its founding, such as the launch of its first ship —the EXPLORA I— and the addition of Captain Serena Melani as its patron.
This inaugural ship, set to set sail in May 2023, will visit 132 ports in 40 countries during its first year, including two destinations experiencing their first cruise ship: Kastellorizo (Greece) and Saint Pierre (Martinique). Itineraries include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, the US East Coast, the Caribbean, South America, and Hawaii. Cruises range from six nights to an unforgettable 44-night Grand Voyage through Northern Europe.
