Carnival Corporation & plc has announced that, effective August 1, Arnold Donald, the current President and Chief Executive Officer, will be appointed Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors. Josh Weinstein, the company's current Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation & plc.

“Josh is an executive who has held key leadership roles, driven strong business results during his tenure, and played an integral role in guiding the company through the global pandemic,” said Donald. “Josh’s deep understanding of our industry, operations, and business strategy puts him in a formidable position to lead the next phase of our company’s journey.”
A 20-year veteran of Carnival Corporation & plc, Weinstein has a long track record of success in senior management positions with the company. In his most recent assignment for the past two years as Chief Operating Officer of Carnival Corporation & plc, Weinstein oversaw all major operational functions, including global maritime, global ports and destinations, global sourcing, global IT, and global audit. During this time, he also oversaw Carnival UK, the operating company of P&O Cruises (UK), and Cunard, which he previously led directly for three years as president.
Prior to his role at Carnival UK, Weinstein was treasurer of Carnival Corporation & plc for 10 years, from 2007 to 2017. From 2002 to 2007, Weinstein worked as a lawyer in the company's legal department.
“I am truly humbled to assume the role of CEO and honored to lead such a talented team of more than 100,000 members who do an incredible job delivering unforgettable and happy vacations to our guests, day after day,” said Weinstein. “I have benefited tremendously from Arnold’s guidance and advice, and I would like to thank him, Micky Arison, our Chairman, and the entire Board of Directors for their support.”
Donald was appointed Chairman and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc in 2013, and during his nine-year tenure as CEO, he led the company to record-breaking results before the pandemic, including the highest profits in the company's history. More recently, Donald has helped the company and its brands successfully navigate the global pandemic, positioning the company well for the future. The company expects each of its nine full fleets across its major cruise brands to be operating with guests in 2022, following what has been a prolonged hiatus.
Donald has also helped reshape the company's fleet profile during his tenure as CEO, with newer, more efficient, and more environmentally advanced ships that will help provide a solid foundation for fantastic guest experiences and fulfill the company's highest responsibility for compliance, environmental protection, and the health, safety, and well-being of its guests, employees on board and ashore, and members of the communities visited.
Donald's business career spans almost four decades. He graduated from Carleton College, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
