José Antonio Lago has been appointed the new Director of Operations for State Ports, filling the position left vacant by Mar Chao from Galicia after her move to the private sector.
José Antonio Lago, from El Bierzo in León, holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universityof Oviedo (1983), and a Master's degree in Commercial Management and Marketing from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid.
In 2006 and for 5 years he held the General Management of the Solid Bulk Terminal of the port of Gijón, EBHISA.
Subsequently, in 2012, under the presidency of Rosa Aza, he was appointed General Manager of the Port Authority of Gijón, a position he held until 2015.
For more than 8 years you have been a Full Professor of Applied Economics and International Trade at the University of Oviedo.
Until now, he was a member of the Boards of Directors of various investee companies and the operational manager of the intermodal logistics strategy of the port of Gijón.
