Seven Carnival cruise ships celebrate Carnival Cruise Line's 50th anniversary together at sea

As part of Carnival Cruise Line's 50th anniversary celebration, seven ships – Carnival Breeze, Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Glory, Mardi Gras, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunrise and Carnival Vista – gathered yesterday near Cozumel to celebrate one of the biggest birthday parties at sea.

During the gathering, each cruise ship hosted its own party on the Lido Deck, where guests joined the Cruise Director, the Playlist Productions cast, and the ship's DJ for a birthday celebration complete with music and entertainment. Guests also participated in the biggest Ship-Tok at sea, where Cruise Directors and Fun Squads from the various ships taught and led a choreographed dance. The Ship-Tok will be posted on TikTok.

The line's 17 themed birthday sailings extend through March 10, 2022, and feature multiple meet-and-greets at sea. On March 5, the Carnival Miracle and Carnival Radiance reunited off the coast of Ensenada, Mexico, and the remaining meet-and-greets include: March 9 – Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Legend, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Spirit, and Carnival Sunshine (Bahamas between Eleuthera and Nassau); and March 11 – Carnival Miracle and Carnival Panorama (Baja, Mexico, off the coast of Ensenada)

Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a commemorative menu specially crafted for the evening, a selection of all-new birthday-themed beverages, a screening of Carnival's original main dining room show set to Bob Marley's classic "Could You Be Loved," and a final night Baked Alaska farewell parade reminiscent of the line's early days.

Carnival will have its entire fleet back in service this summer, completing a restart of its operations with guests and setting the pace for the rest of the U.S. cruise industry. Carnival began operations with a single ship from PortMiami in 1972 and has since grown to become the world's most popular cruise line, with a total of 24 ships carrying more than six million guests annually and employing more than 40,000 team members from 120 nationalities.
