The Port of Seville welcomes its first cruise ship of the season

The Port of Seville inaugurated its cruise season with the arrival of the first cruise ship of the year, the Hamburg, operated by Hamburg Süd. The ship made its first stop at the Muelle de las Delicias (Delicias Wharf), marking the return of cruise tourism to the city. The cruise ship, which has visited Seville on previous occasions, docked around 10:00 AM, arriving from Portimão, Portugal, and remained in the city until its departure at 8:30 PM for Cádiz.

On board are 214 cruise passengers, most of them German, and 149 crew members. Handled by Agencia Marítima Portillo, the Hamburg measures 145 meters in length and 23 meters in beam.

This is the first cruise ship to arrive in Seville in 2022, following the Azamara Journey's last call on December 2nd. Currently, the Port Authority of Seville has registered more than 40 requests for port calls between March and November 2022. This is an initial forecast that will be confirmed as the date approaches, since the initial schedule may be subject to change due to the ongoing pandemic and route modifications by cruise lines.
