After a 23-month operational hiatus, the Seabourn Encore is once again welcoming passengers, becoming the third ship in the company's fleet to resume service. The first was the Seabourn Ovation in July 2021, which offered a series of cruises to the Greek Islands and the Eastern Mediterranean. After the season ended, it continued with Caribbean itineraries. The Seabourn Odyssey followed, also in July 2021, sailing Eastern Caribbean cruises from Barbados. The rest of the company's fleet is scheduled to resume service before the second half of 2022.
The Seabourn Encore's inaugural cruise, departing from Lisbon, includes visits to five ports in Spain's Canary Islands archipelago, such as La Palma, Tenerife, and Arrecife, as well as a stop in Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Continuing its itinerary, the Encore will offer more sailings to the Atlantic islands until early April, after which the ship will relocate to the Mediterranean to offer its summer program in the region.
The 40,350-ton cruise ship originally entered service in 2016 as an expanded version of the earlier series of Seabourn builds. The Seabourn can accommodate 604 guests and offers modern design elements, suites, multiple restaurants, plus a show room, a spa, several lounges and bars, a casino and the popular Seabourn Square.
