Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced that the premiere of the penultimate episode of EMBARK – The Series, “Welcome Aboard”, is scheduled for Friday, September 10 at www.ncl.com/embark.
The five-part documentary series chronicling the cruise line's highly anticipated return continues with a behind-the-scenes look at its grand return to the sea as the Norwegian Jade becomes the first ship in the fleet to welcome guests aboard after 500 days. In this fourth episode, viewers will witness the emotional moments as the crew reunites for the first time in many months, as well as their enthusiasm to do what they do best: deliver memorable cruise experiences. The episode will showcase the ship's final preparations before the first guests embark and the Norwegian Jade makes history as the first ship in the NCL fleet to set sail for its homeport of Athens.

Now, in this fourth episode, we invite guests to see and feel the excitement and thrill of safely reuniting with our guests, crew, and the destinations we’ve missed over the past year.

NCL resumed its voyages on July 25, 2021, after more than 500 days of suspension, with Norwegian Jade sailing the Greek islands. On August 7, the first ship debuted from the United States after more than 500 days with the departure of Norwegian Encore from Seattle for its inaugural Alaskan cruise season. Then, on August 15, Norwegian Gem became the first ship in the fleet to resume operations from Miami, sailing from Norwegian Cruise Line’s new terminal at PortMiami with a selection of week-long Caribbean voyages and four-day Bahamas cruises. The remaining ships are scheduled to redeploy to Europe and North America throughout the fall.
The redeployment of the entire fleet will continue in partnership with local governments and will be guided by the robust protocols of the company’s Sail Safe health and safety program, a cornerstone of which is that all crew and guests must be fully vaccinated to embark on voyages dated through December 31, 2021. In collaboration with leading experts from the Sail Safe Global Health and Wellness Council, the protocols will be regularly assessed and modified as needed, with science-based decisions made to protect guests, crew, and the destinations visited.
