The Government of Gibraltar is pleased to confirm that Shell has successfully completed the formalities for its LNG bunkering application and the concession has been approved. The Port of Gibraltar Authority now looks forward to working with Shell to further develop the range of fueling services at the Port of Gibraltar and to include LNG bunkering. This is in line with the ambition to keep Gibraltar at the forefront of developments in the bunkering industry and to strengthen its position as a bunkering hub.

Chief Minister Fabian Picardo QC MP welcomed the news, saying: “I am delighted that such a prestigious entity as Shell will be operating from the Port of Gibraltar. The inclusion of LNG bunkering as one of the services offered at our port demonstrates our forward-thinking approach to the development of the maritime industry, and ensures that Gibraltar is part of the transition to cleaner fuels and a reduction in environmental impact.”.
